KOTA KINABALU: A local woman was sentenced with a fine of RM2,000 or in default four months jail by the Magistrate Court, today, for the charge of possessing meth.
Narnih John admitted guilty before Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie, for possessing 0.14gramme of meth inside a rented room, here, at 11.00am in 7 October ago.
She is charged under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries a punishment of RM100,000 fine maximum or up to five years of jail, or both, if found guilty.
In mitigation, the accused who is a mother of six pleaded for a minimum fine since it was her first criminal record, and she is unemployed.
