Likas Vocational College’s 2015 Sports Meet

KOTA KINABALU: Athletes from Likas Vocational College met for its 2015 Track & Field Sports Game at Likas Sports Stadium.
Among the games contested include the racing competitions for 100M sprint, 400M, 1500M, 4X100M, 4X400M, long jump, and throwing categories for shot put, discus, and javelin.
The event which saw participation from 115 athletes was assisted by the college’s 106 lecturers and 40 volunteers from the Red Crescent Association (PBSM), KRS, and Scouting Association who were involved directly as committee members to ensure the games proceed smoothly.
For this year’s competition, the four sports camps of Neon, Solar, Plasma, and Arka competed against each other to become the overall champion of the sports games with the highest accumulated points.
Plasma camp became the winner with 197 points with 12 gold medals, 5 silver, and 6 bronze, while Arka camp followed behind with 133 points.
Izham Hazmi from Plasma camp won the 2015 Best Athlete awards by winning two gold medals in 100M sprint and 4X100M.
The Best Athlete for Female Category was taken by Shirley Sherlyn from Arka camp after she won two gold medals in 400M and long jump competition, and one silver medal in 4X400M.
The sports event was officiated by Likas Vocational College, Sabin Sinusun.
He commended the high sportsmanship among the athletes and the cooperation of the lecturers in cultivating healthy competitiveness in the aim to improve the college sports performance and co-curriculum activities. – SayangSabah
