KOTA KINABALU: Likas Square Apartment Hotel and Commercial Centre has been recognized by DBKK as a rubbish-free premise.

The Mayor, Datuk Abidin Madingkir, said the hotel and commercial centre which was first recognized as the first Rubbish-Free Apartment Hotel and Commercial Centre in 2008 continues to become a role model for other developers in the city.

“I hope other apartment hotels and commercial centres in the state capital will join the campaign and help DBKK in expanding areas free from rubbishes in the city,” he said during the re-certification of the hotel at an event at Likas Square, today.

Also present were Likas Square Apartment Hotel and Commercial Centre General Manager, David Kong, DBKK Health and Service Department Director, Robert Lipon, and DBKK and Likas Square employees.

Besides from the recognition, Abidin said the premise is also active in launching Anti-Kutu Sampah campaign and recycling programmes.

“This certainly shows that Likas Square Apartment Hotel and Commercial Centre is all in for a good environment,” he added.

139 premises are recognized by DBKK as free from rubbishes since the implementation of DBKK Anti-Kutu Sampah Campaign in 2008. –SayangSabah
