KUALA LUMPUR: An UMNO Overseas Club representative urged the party leadership to leave behind ‘something beautiful’ as a legacy for them to continue the struggle.
Wan Zokhri Wan Idris, who is also a member of the Korea Umno Club, said they were worried that any leadership crisis might give a big impact on their future.
“Are you going to bequeth to us a crisis-laden party thay may disintegrate or a party with a beautiful history and full of legacy? We have no interest in the party but only loyalty to the struggle that we sincerely want to inherit from you,” he said to loud applause from the delegates when debating the presidential speech at the UMNO General Assembly 2015 here, today.
Wan Zokhri said UMNO key leaders and members of the Supreme Council should streamline the party’s strategy to continue to move forward to fight for the nation and religion.
While expressing their unwavering loyalty to the UMNO leadership under president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, he also wanted the top leaders to immediately solve whatever crisis that the party was saddling. – BERNAMA
