Labourer pleaded not guilty for possessing a knife

KOTA KINABALU: A labourer pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate Court today for the charge of possessing a knife.

Frazier Nasil 38, was accused of possessing an 8-inch knife at Kg. Sembulan Lama, in 14 December, around 4.40pm.

He was charged under Section 6(1)(a) of the Explosive and Corrosive Substance and Offensive Weapons Act 1956, which carries a punishment of two years jail, a fine, caning, or two of the sentences, if found guilty.

Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie granted RM2,000 bail with RM1,000 deposit by two local bailors.

The court also set 13 January next year for the case mention.
