KOTA KINABALU: Five deejays are set for the new Kupi Kupi Fm radio station which will be officially on air this 19 January after its trial broadcast session since 1 October last year.
The radio station playing Sabah local songs will be broadcasted 24 hours and available in Kota Belud to Kuala Penyu, with future plans and improvement will enable all communities including those in the interior to listen to its programme.
The presenters, Gregory Giting (Grey) and Nizhamul Hayat (Niz) will host the Bangun Bogia Kinabalu session from 6.00am to 10.00am. With Queennera Francis (Nera Af) is set to deejay the following Ki Ki Bah programme from 10.00am to 1.00pm.
Janrywine J. Lusin will take over for the Macam Di KK session starting from 1.00pm to 4.00pm, and Velvet Anduk (Velvet Af) for Steady Ko Geng from 4.00pm to 8.00pm.
The community radio station with the slogans ‘Kita Kita Juga Baini’ and ‘Ini Sama Sama Kita Punya’ can be tuned at the frequency of 96.3mhz.
Kupi Kupi Fm Programme Manager, Lester Calvin Miol, said 80 percent of the songs played by the radio station are in Sabah local languages.
“We welcome the people of Sabah regardless of their ethnics to make an album or songs in their own mothertongue, either it be Rungus, Dusun, Kadazan, Bajau, Chinese, or others,” he said. –SayangSabah
