KOTA BELUD, – A total of 286 families affected by the recent floods here received aid of RM500 each from the federal government.
It was handed to them by Sabah Agriculture and Food Industry Assistant Minister Datuk Musbah Jamli, who represented the Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan.
Musbah, when reading the text of Abdul Rahman’s speech, said the giving of the aid proved the government’s concern for the people.
“The money is not to compensate for the damage and losses suffered by the flood victims but to help ease their burden,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Sabah and Labuan Federal Territory National Security Council (NSC) secretary Rodzi Md Saat said a total of 2,118 families who were evacuated during the floods would receive the aid, to be given in stages, by end of March.- BERNAMA
