KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Members of Parliament Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club chairman Datuk Juslie Ajirol has criticised DAP vice-chairman Teresa Kok Suh Sim over her statement that the Tanduo intrusion incident by the Sulu terrorists was an old story and not serious.
Juslie, who is also Libaran MP said Kok’s statement was insensitive to the people of Sabah as they were badly affected by the incident.
“She has taken the Tanduo incident very lightly when the bloody tragedy had actually left a dark stain in the history of the state,” he told Bernama here today.
He said the question of national security should not be politicised.
“Our leaders have been working tirelessly to protect the security and maintain unity of the people. Never allow political difference to undermine our security and dignity,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tenom MP Datuk Raimi Unggi in lambasting Kok said she was ignorant of the security threats faced in Sabah.
Sabah United Party vice-president Datuk Jamilah Sulaiman said the intrusion in Lahad Datu in 2013 was a serious incident and was not a drama staged by the government.- BERNAMA
