TAWAU: Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKLW) allocates RM200 million for Housing Assistance Programme (PBR), covering repairs and building costs across the country this year.
Its Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, said from the allocation Sabah receives RM50.2 million for builing 1,002 new homes costing Rm50,000 each, with 307 houses are listed for maintenance.
According to him, RM50.5 million has been allocated to build 974 new houses and to repair 3,720 PBR housing units in the Peninsular, while Sarawak receives RM50 million to build 780 new homes to cover the maintenance costs for 2,617 houses.
“We are building and repairs housing units with the fund for those who are qualified and registered in e-Kasih, and they have been identified and listed to receive PBR contribution,” he told the media after presenting a donation to 71 fire victims’ families at Kg. Sentosa Hilltop, here today.
Previously in the ceremony, Shafie presented a cash donation of Rm500 to the heads of family who lost their properties in the fire incident, and also presenting food donation from Rubber Industry Small Developers Authority (RISDA).
He said, several houses under PBR programme has already under construction while the the rest of the planned housing are still undergoing site verification process. – SayangSabah
