SANDAKAN: The Kinabatangan-Corridor of Life Tourism Operators Association (KiTA) and the Sandakan Tourism Association (STAN) will ensure that all their members understand the Goods and Services Tax (GST) to be
implemented on April 1.
KiTA vice-president, Johnny Lim, who is also the president of STAN, said KiTA and STAN held a workshop on GST over three days for tourism industry players in Sandakan recently.
“The objective of the workshop, attended by 30 participants from 10 companies and tour operators, was to ensure that tourism operators in Sandakan and Kinabatangan are willing to comply with the implementation of the GST,” he said in a statement here today.
Lim said the two associations would continue to work to improve the quality of the tourism industry and promote Sandakan and Kinabatangan as tourist destinations.-BERNAMA
