KENINGAU: National Paralympic athlete, Felicia Mikat, who won three gold medals during the Para ASEAN 2015 Games in Singapore last year, received the attention of various government departments, agencies, and organizations.
Keningau IPD Police Headquarters also took the opportunity to visit Felicia’s family house at Kg. Kipaku, Tambunan, to present the District Police Chief personal contribution, a hamper and financial handout in conjunction with the Christmas and New Year 2016 celebration.
The District Police Chief, DSP Douglas Nyeging Taong, said the visit and contribution were a symbol of moral support and motivation for Felicia to continue her outstanding records in the future.
He said it was also to build public confidence among the local community on the attentiveness of Keningau PDRM.
“PDRM especially Keningau IPD is not only stressing on crime prevention, but also approach the local community through various community activities,” he said to the media after visiting the athlete’s family.
Besides from giving the contribution, Douglas said they also spend time and give motivational talks to Felicia’s family. –SayangSabah
