TAWAU: The state level Karnival @mymasjid 2015 programme has been held for the first time in Sabah this year by the Islamic Da’wah Foundation Malaysia (YADIM), yesterday.
The Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman, said the carnival can help in developing knowledge, transforming minds and attitude towards excellence among the Muslim community in the long run.
“Mosques should not be used as a place of worship only, it should be a centre for gathering communities and become a platform for unity for Muslims,” he said.
His text speech was delivered by the state Minister of Youth and Sports, Datuk Hj. Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan, during officiating the event.
He also calls for mosque leaders and committee members to implement more interesting programmes to attract the young generation to get involve with the institution.
“The centralization of ideas and abilities between the old and young generation will be able to uphold the brilliance of the mosque institution itself,” he added.
Musa also reminded the relevant parties not to use the facility to spread ideas that go against with the creed of sunnah wal jamaah and policies set up by the government. –SayangSabah
