JPNIN produced forty-five qualified mediator

KOTA KINABALU- Sabah State Department of National Unity and Integration (JPNIN) produced 45 qualified mediators who completed their course last year.

Of these numbers 34 were from Sabah, nine from Labuan and two from Peninsular, Malaysia, Director of Sabah State JPNIN, Delin Liet Blaun said.

He said that the mediator course started in 2013 with the objectives of the course being to foster friendship among mediator and to gain new knowledge on politic issues.

“In Sabah, there were 15 mediators who joined the first series. The second and third series of this course had the same amount of participants which were 34 mediators,” she added.

Director General of Malaysia JPNIN, Gandesan Letchumanan said that mediators must be independent and committed to the process of problem resolution.

“Mediators work with people to find solutions to the problem that will work for both parties in order to promote peace in our country,” he said. – By Saila Saidie/Sayangsabah.
