KUALA LUMPUR: A chicken vendor’s joy ride was cut short when he was arrested on a motorcycle that was reported missing just hours earlier.
Mohd Hazimi Md Nawawi, 27, was sentenced to six months jail by the Magistrate’s Court here today after he pleaded guilty to possession of the
stolen Black Yamaha LC motorcycle.
He was accused of committing the offence in Jalan Cempaka SD 12/1, PJU Bandar Sri Damansara, at 5.20am on July 7 and charged under Section 411 of the
Penal Code which carries a minimum jail term of six months and a maximum of seven years, if found guilty.
Before handing down the sentence, Magistrate Ashraf Rezal Abdul Manan advised the accused on the implications of his plea, but Mohd Hazimi still
In mitigation, Mohd Hazimi, who was unrepresented, said he was a first offender.
