KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah National Culture and Arts Department (JKKN) will be organising a cultural volunteer camp for three days starting tomorrow at Kampung Pukak Kiulu White Water Rafting Centre, Tamparuli, here.
The camp is being organised to train volunteers and also to improve the activities to be carried out.
Sabah JKKN director Mohamad Raizuli Mat Jusoh also hoped that the programme would increase the number of cultural volunteers, in Malaysia, and especially in the state.
“I hope this programme can cultivate the spirit of volunteerism in the community,” he said in a statement here, today.
About 30 participants from the public and private higher education institutions, including members of cultural non-governmental organisations and
21 orphans, are expected to participate in the camp. Various activities have been arranged including motivational speech, wall climbing and jungle trekking.- BERNAMA
