KOTA KINABALU: The JKKK and JKDB are urged to support the government’s programmes and policies for transforming rural areas.
Minister of Rural and Regional Development, YB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said JKKK/JKDB are important entities as transformation agent for village areas and as frontline leaders in nation’s development.
“JKKK/JKDB is set up to become a grassroot leadership institution to improve the socio-economy level of the community and monitor every development projects in their respective villages. They are the eye and ear of the government in channeling information such as policies implemented for the community,” he said during the South West Zone JKKK/JKDB Event at Klagan Regency Hotel, 1 Borneo.
He also said an allocation of RM4.120 billion has been approved by the government for infrastructure development in Sabah.
“This allocation is to launch programmes under the First Rolling Plan (2016-2017), covering 85 projects consisting of 67 new projects and 18 project extensions which will be implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development and its agencies,” he added.
Also present during the event was Sabah Minister of Rural Development, Datuk Radin Malleh. –SayangSabah
