KOTA KINABALU: Some 100 Auxiliary Firefighter personnel of the Mountain Search and Rescue (MOSAR) division will be selected as a preparation to face any possible disaster and emergency such as the earthquake disaster that hit Ranau in 5 June.
Currently, 40 MOSAR members have been appointed and the selection will be held in the future to achieve the target of having 100 personnel for the division.
JBPM Training Division Vice Chief Director, Mohammad Hamdan Haji Wahid, said the MOSAR team based at Ranau JBPM Department has been set up by the department following the earthquake disaster that struck the district.
“The selection for MOSAR is open for the public and those who fulfil the criteria will undergo 10 days training before being certified as MOSAR personnel, but they are also required to follow future trainings,” he said.
He was speaking to the media during the second series of certification for Auxiliary JBPM Officers 2015 at Malaysia Sabah JBPM Headquarters Multipurpose Hall. -SayangSabah
