KOTA KINABALU: Football sports in Sabah continues to show its dominance among its fans thanks to the appearance of new youth football clubs in the state, with one of the club has been seen to have the potential bringing the sports its former glory.
Known as Itihad FC, the Kota Kinabalu –born team attracts attention by performing excellent gameplay and competitiveness.
With several series of victories in friendly matches, Itihad FC pushes it’s momentum as a solid football team, scoring 8-0 against UiTM FC and Sabah Foundation College, and surprises everyone with an unprecedented victory against Juta FC in Keningau Stadium with a score 1-0.
Mohd Saifullah Hisham, said they are aiming for the team to qualify for FAM league by 2016.
“With their performance and gameplay getting better consistently, I believe that we can achieve our dream of playing in FAM League,” he said.
He also admits that he has contacted a coach from Iraq to manage the team, adding that the coach who has long residing in the country has also agreed with the contract until 2017.
He is also considering the plan to strengthen the team by having Sabah former imported players as part of its members.
Saifullah also hopes for the state football fans to give their supports for the team. – SayangSabah
