KOTA KINABALU: Malaysia Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) held a meeting with other enforcement departments and agencies to discuss on the smuggling problems in the country.
(picture), said the discussion also focuses on the prevention approach regarding several enforcement officials who are protecting smuggling syndicates, especially at the nation’s borders.
“This meeting is important in ensuring every enforcement departments and agencies in the country are free from corruption,” he told the media at a press conference after giving his speech for Integrity Empowerment Forum at Federal Administration Auditorium Complex, here today.
The meeting, held at MACC Headquarters, Putrajaya yesterday were participated by the senior officers from the Home Ministry, Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-Operatives, and Consumerism, Malaysia Royal Police, Customs Department, and Immigration Department.
“With this meeting, hopefully we can find a solution to prevent integrity issues and corruptions among enforcement officials,” he said, adding that a series of meetings will also be held with other departments and agencies.
“The result of the discussion will be forwarded to the National Secretary General for further actions,” he said.
Also present at the forum organized by JBPM, MACC, and Malaysia Integrity Institute (IIM) were Sabah DUN Speaker, Datuk Salleh Said Keruak, MACC Vice Chief Commissioner, Datuk Mustafar Ali, and Assistant Minister of Industry Development, Datuk Bolkiah Ismail, who represents the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman. – SayangSabah
