KOTA KINABALU: Local entrepreneurs are urged to think outside the box in coming up with new creative marketing ideas to improve their income, said the state Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs, Datuk Hajah Jainab Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Ahmad Ayid, during the closing ceremony for the Rukun Tetangga Digital Mall Social Innovation Course by the state Department of National Unity and Integration, at Mandarin Hotel.
“Business is getting more competitive in Malaysia due to the progress in technology which is the main medium for product marketing, those who are well-versed with IT will be leading this cyber-based business,” she said.
She also said the course is one of the government’s initiatives to help entrepreneurs based on the observation on the changes in the current economy.
She hopes that the programme will help its target group to garner new ideas and innovation for their business, in line with the development of technology.
The course involving local entrepreneurs also gives exposure on a website developed by UKM for quality assessment and advertising local products. –SayangSabah
