KOTA KINABALU: Some 22 illegal immigrants and 9 narcotic offenders were apprehended during the Ops Nyah Bersepadu launched by Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters.
The operation, carried out by 3 oficers and 102 personnel were held at five squatters settlements around Manggatal, Inanam, Likas, State Assembly, and Karamunsing.
District Police Chief, ACP M. Chandra, said the arrested illegals have been sent to Centralized Lockup for investigation under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1963.
“Four adult men were found to possess meth drugs and charged under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, with five others charged under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1942,” he said.
The integrated operation was launched as a preparation for the state capital for the Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) in January nest year. -SayangSabah
