SEREMBAN; Operators of 85 family entertainment centres in Negeri Sembilan will potential face the law for operating without a licence and carrying out illegal gambling.
Negeri Sembilan CID chief, ACP Nor Azman Muhammad Yusof said the premises were identified in an operation carried out on Jan 1 till yesterday.
Seremban recorded the highest number of illegal entertainment centres with 54, followed by Port Dickson (26); Nilai (three); and Jelebu (two), he said.
He said 89 people were arrested including caretakers of the premises and patrons, while 127 gaming machines worth RM7,730 were seized.
“The premises that did not have a business licence will be investigated under the Entertainment and Entertainment Premises Enactment 1998, while those carrying out gaming activities will be investigated under the Common Gaming House Act 1953,” he said in a statement here today.- BERNAMA
