KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the annual UMNO iftar programme by zone throughout the state was part of the culture of UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders going down to the ground to be in touch with the “pulse of the people”.
Musa, who is also Sabah UMNO chief and Sabah BN chairman, said the tradition also helped the leaders strengthen ties with the people a the grassroot level.
“We also invite BN component party leaders to join us in this programme,” he said when attending the Zone 2 Iftar function here tonight.
UMNO Zone 2 covers Kota Kinabalu, Putatan, Sepanggar and Penampang. Also present was Sabah Deputy Chief Minister and Sabah UMNO secretary Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin. – BERNAMA
