BONGAWAN: About 17 homestays in Kg. Serbang which are fully equipped with facilities and attractions are about to become the new tourist attraction in the area.
Bongawan State Assemblyman (ADUN), Mohamad Alamin, said the setting up of the homestays will meet the increasing demand from local and foreign tourists who visit the state.
He also give his assurance for the package offered by the homestays operated by local villagers since three years ago to give memorable experiences for the visitors.
“Besides from experiencing a tru ‘kampung’ environment with many interesting activities, visitors also have the opportunity to see the Proboscis monkeys and fireflies along the Bongawan River.
“We are also planning to increase the number of homestays for tourism and economic development in the area,” he said after officiating the Sri Serbang Homestays.
Mohamad also calls for the residents in the area to take the opportunities to generate extra incomes by participating in the homestay business. – SayangSabah
