KEMABONG: Four families lose their homes to fire in Kg. Sumambu, here, on Friday.
Tenom Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Hairin Saipin, confirmed the incident, adding that they have received a report regarding on the incident from the victims at the district fire station.
“All of the victims have just finished making their reports. The location of the incident was far, and cannot be reached by fire trucks. The villagers also don’t have any telecommunication network,” he said when contacted, here today.
All the victims were away at their farms when the incident occurred.
Hairin said, besides from the wooden houses being destroyed, all valuable properties such as gongs, old tajaus, jewelry, and cash were lost in the fire. Important documents such as identification cards and birth certificates, however, were saved by the victims.
The victims made a report regarding the fire incident to the fire and rescue department, police, District Office, Community Welfare Department, and state assemblyman.
Currently the victims are now living with their relatives in Kemabong. – SayangSabah
