Harvest Festival 4X4 Wheel Challenge

KOTA KINABALU – In conjunction with the coming Harvest Festival Celebration, a tournament for four wheel drive enthusiasts from all over the state have been invited to participate The 4th Penampang 4X4 Challenge (amateurs open).

The 3-day challenge is scheduled to be held at Kampung Duvanson in Penampang from 22 April to 24 April. The event is organized by the Penampang Four Wheel Drive Club (PFWDC).

Organising Chairman Alexander Leong said the organizer has to date received good response from various four wheel clubs throughout Sabah that includes Tawau, Kota Kinabalu, Kota Belud, Lahad Datu, Kota Marudu, Ranau, Sandakan, Keningau, Sipitang, Beaufort and also Sarawak and Brunei.

He said that they expect more entries which are open to all enthusiasts to compete in the two-category challenge namely, the two doors and four doors four wheel drives.

“We have decided to open the challenge for drivers and co-drivers even if they have competed or won any major 4×4 events including the International Borneo Safari.

“However, all competition vehicles must adhere to the rules and regulations,” he said.

The participants would not be allowed to use Syn-winches, jammed brakes and Volvo axles, while the maximum tyre size is 37 inch.
