KOTA KINABALU- Congress of Union Employees in the Public and Civil Services (CUEPACS) appeal to the government to review the Financing and Housing Loan Policy including Salaries Income Calculation Policy and Fixed Allowance of public sector especially in Sabah and Sarawak.
CUEPACS National President, Datuk Azih Muda said the government needs to allow fixed allowance such as territory allowance is counted as part of the income for calculation of house finance.
He said the price of houses in this state is so high compared to other states in peninsular Malaysia.
“If the government neglecting this matter, most of the civil servants in Sabah and Sarawak is not qualify to buy and own a house.
“Now, only the basic salary counted in the calculation for house purchasing,” he said to the media after the Sabah CUEPACS Triennial Delegates Conference at Tang Dynasty Hotel here, today.
Also present were General Secretary of CUEPACS, Datuk Lok Yim Pheng and Sabah CUEPACS Chairman, Maiman Muntial.
Apart from that, he also urges the government to review and fixed the necessary rate of territory allowance.
“Every time that salary changes, there will be a decrease in the amount of territory allowance… If the salary of the public servant reached one level as the ceiling, the allowance will be demolished… We want to see the flexibility of the territory allowance,” he said.
Apart from that, Azih also pleaded so that the government considers the bonus for Hari Raya of one month salary to all the civil services across Malaysia.
According to Azih, the bonus given is sensible taking to account the factor of festival celebration and the living cost that increasing nowadays.
“Looking to the contribution of the public servant, the bonus given is a necessary thing to do so that they could be weathered the Ramadan and celebrate eid in more comfortable situation.-SayangSabah
