KOTA KINABALU: Gaya Christmas celebration held since 2005 is becoming more famous among city folks and those from the surrounding districts.
Kota KInabalu Mayor, Datuk Abidin Madingkir, said the programme makes the state capital, Kota Kinabalu, livelier during the festive season.
“This programme is an annual event for Kota Kinabalu, including the Chinese New Year Carnival, Kaamatan Carnival, and Ramadan Bazaar,” he said.
He also said more efforts will be done to hold similar programmes to highlight cultures, arts, and the way of life of communities from various background in the state.
The celebration is co-organized by churches from different denominations in Sabah, and has attracted more than 10,000 visitors last year. –SayangSabah
