KOTA KINABALU: Efforts will be intensified to reduce garbage at the waste disposal area in Kayu Madang, Telipok.
Assistant Minister for the Chief Minister, Datuk Ir. Edward Yong Oui Fah, said the effort will be launched due to the increasing quantity of accumulated waste at the site.
“I believe that the new mayor of Kota Kinabalu will take this issue seriously and give his focus on the initiative to recycle materials from the site,” he said during a press conference for the Chinese New Year celebration at the Kota Kinabalu Community Rehabilitation Centre (PDK), this morning.
Commenting on PDK facility, he said it is one of the platforms which give parents the opportunity to train and care for their children while they are at work.
He also said festivals in the country are celebrated together and thus making Malaysians as the best example for unity.
“Malaysians are made up of various ethnics and beliefs, but all festivals are celebrated together in harmony,” he said. –SayangSabah
