Four pleaded not guilty to kidnapping a Bangladeshi

PETALING JAYA: Four men, including two foreigners pleaded not guilty in a magistrate’s court here today with kidnapping a Bangladeshi man last month.

They were Myanmar national Dil Mohammad Iman Hussain; locals Mohamed Azhan Mohamed Noor, 42, and Zahiruddin Zanal Abidin, 27; and, Mohd Rofiq Alam, whose nationality and age were not ascertained.

They were charged before magistrate Mohd Azali Ibrahim with kidnapping and locking up Ziarul Sareder at a grocery shop in Goodyear Court 7, USJ 14/1 Subang Jaya here about 9pm on Jan 22.

Mohd Azali allowed three of the accused – Dil Mohammad, Mohamed Azhan and Zahiruddin – bail of RM4,000 in one surety each.

Mohd Rofiq was denied bail as he did not possess any identification document. Mohamed Azhan also pleaded not guilty to a charge of impersonating a policeman to the victim at the same time and location.

For that offence, Mohd Azali set bail at RM1,500 in one surety. The court fixed Feb 18 for mention.- BERNAMA
