Forty nine undocumented foreigners held

KOTA KINABALU: Police detained 49 undocumented foreigners in an integrated operation at three lodging premises in the city on Thursday.

City police chief ACP M. Chandra said in a statement here today that the individuals were aged between 19 and 40.

He said four individuals were also detained in the six-hour operation beginning at 4 am at Sinsuran, Bandaran Berjaya and Segama, after testing positive for drugs.

The operation which ended at 10 am was led by three officers and 76 personnel from various agencies including People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela), Kota Kinabalu City Hall and National Registration Department, said Chandra. – BERNAMA
