KOTA KINABALU: Former Director-General of Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) Datuk Mohammad Mentek has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government, officially yesterday.
He held the position of Divisional Secretary for the Human Resource Management Division, under the Ministry of Education in Putrajaya from October 1 last year.
He received the letter of appointment to take office of the new position from the Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government recently.
Mohammad who is also the former director of Sabah Immigration was appointed as ESSCOM Director-General in April 1, 2013.
Mohammad, a Semporna-born, holds a diploma in Science (Statistic), and a Bachelor Degree for Science (Mathematic) from Minnesota University, US. He began his service in government agency as a diplomatic and administrative officer on 1st December 1992, and became the Director of Sabah Immigration in August 14, 2010. – SayangSabah
