KOTA KINABALU – There is a need for alternate routes to resolve the traffic congestion at Inanam area.
In this respect Sepanggar member of parliament Datuk Jumat Idris said a flyover at Lido and Sepanggar area should be constructed to ease the traffic congestion which seemed to get more serious everyday.
According to him, traffic congestion was not a new issue but more could be done to resolve the problem such as constructing a by-pass in Taipan to Kampung Dambai, Inanam as an alternative route for motorists.
Jumat who was speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of the new elected Inanam Urban Community Development Committee (JKDB) at Gaya Point, here today said he would bring the matter up with the Public Works Department (PWD).
However, Jumat stated that depended on PWD allocations and planning.
Located approximately 10 km from Kota Kinabalu city centre, the roads in Inanam were considered the connecting points for road users coming from Tuaran, Menggatal and Sepanggar to the city.– By Fizah Yusof/SayangSabah
