KUALA LUMPUR: Five people were injured after the car they were travelling in skidded and crashed into a Mitsubishi Pajero and security van from opposite direction near the National Heart Institute here today.
In the 5.30 pm mishap, the victims’ Proton Iswara car was believed to have lost control and skidded into the opposite lane before crashing into the Pajero and the van.
Van driver, K. Shanmuganathen, 40, who was heading to Brickfields, said he was so shocked when the mishap occurred.
“The car was overtaking another car, but skidded into the opposite lane and hit the Pajero and my van. It was fortunate that my friend and I are safe despite the terrible damage on the front of the van. Luckily, the Pajero driver is unhurt too,” he told Bernama at the scene.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police operation room spokesman, when contacted, confirmed the accident.
He said the victims comprised three women and two men and all of them were taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.- BERNAMA
