KOTA KINABALU: An unemployed man fined RM25 in default seven days jail by Magistrate Court for being drunk and noisy.
Sazalie Omar, 40, was brought in front of Magistrate Cindy McJuce Balitus, where he admitted guilty in committing the offense at an unnumbered house in Tebobon, Manggatal, in 1 December, around 6.40pm.
The accused was punished under Section 15 of the State Minor Offences Ordinance, which stipulated a fine of RM25 and jail.
Based on the case fact, the complainant who is the stepbrother of the accused went to his house to deliver their daily necessities.
At the house, he found Sazalie in a drunken state and being very noisy of which the complainant then lodged a report after he can no longer tolerate with his alcoholic behaviour and lack of responsibility for his family.
In mitigation, Sazalie pleaded for a lighter punishment; however, the prosecution led by Insp. Isfandiar Dr. Japri applied for a fair sentence to be carried out. -SayangSabah
