KUALA LUMPUR: The Finance Ministry has issued 26,963 notices of claim to owners of entities registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) who failed to submit their statements and make payments on the estimated
amount as of Nov 9.
The Finance Ministry, in a written reply at the Dewan Rakyat today, said of the total, 11,106 notices were settled and the remaining were in the process of updating the claim records.
“About 41.2 percent have been settled and the rest are in the process of updating the claims records,” it said in reply to a question from Datuk Othman Abdul (BN-Pendang).
A notice of tax claim would be issued via the automatic tax assessment system to individuals who have registered and failed to submit their GST statements within the stipulated period, as provided under Section 43 of the Goods and Services Act 2014. – BERNAMA
