KUALA TERENGGANU: Female fetal remains with the umblical cord still intact was found floating in the sewage plant of a private college in Setiu yesterday.
State CID chief, ACP Wan Abd Aziz Wan Hamzah said the fetus was found at about 3.30pm by a contract cleaning worker at the college.
“When the employee was going about his work at the location, he saw an object floating in the plant before he informed the authorities,” Wan Abd Aziz told reporters here today.
According to Wan Abd Aziz, police believe the remains had been in the tank for the past 48 hours judging by its condition.
He said there were injuries on the arms and thighs of the six-month-old fetus, believed to be caused while being swept through the college’s dormitory toilet drain before being found floating in the plant.-BERNAMA
