GEORGE TOWN: Police have detained two men in connection with the assault on a member of a ferry crew by a group of men at the Raja Tun
Uda ferry terminal at Weld Quay here last Nov 12.
Timur Laut district police chief ACP Mior Faridalatrash Wahid said the two men, both aged 21 and college students, were detained at about 3.45 pm
They are in remand for four days to assist police investigation, he added. Mior Faridalatrash said police were also looking for other members of the
group and urged those with information to contact the nearest police station.
In the incident at 9.45 pm, the victim, aged 38, was injured on the face and broke his ribs when kicked, punched and hit with crash helmets by a group of men.
The victim, a ferry crew, had earlier told the group of men to move away from the deck as the ferry wanted to berth.- BERNAMA
