BEAUFORT: Federal government through its ministries and agencies will speed up implementation process for various assistance supports to help farmers in Sabah.
Sabah State Farmers Organization (PPNS) President, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak, said the government has prepared allocations for this matter, and systematization by related departments are needed.
“It is to ensure the huge allocations reach its targeted communities, especially farmers in the state. Thus, systematization in the channeling process is important to achieve this objective,” he said in his speech for officiating Beaufort Farmers Oganization (PPK) 37th Annual Meeting, here today.
Also present is the chairman of PPNS, Datuk Mohd. Nazri Abdullah, and Perak Farmers Organization Chairman, Datuk Seri Dr. Raja Ahmad Zainuddin.
Salleh, who is also Sabah DUN Speaker, said he hopes for the government to come up with the best mechanism for the channeling process to be administered by Sabah ministries and agencies.
In a related development, he also calls for farmers to increase their knowledge in new technologies, including to explore organic agriculture opportunities.
Agriculture is a profitable sector, and farmers have to be proud with their profession especially the youths, he added. – SayangSabah
