KOTA KINABALU: DBKK made a proposal for an exhibition to showcase the history of parade themed ‘Urban & Robe’ by UMS students wearing their graduation robe.
The Mayor, Datuk Abidin Madingkir, said it is for students to look back at the nostalgia of the event and the importance of the ties that have been made with the community of Kota Kinabalu.
“It is also as experience-sharing and inspiration for the city folks in upholding the culture of knowledge,” he said during the UMS Graduates Gown Parade at DBKK Building.
The development of human resource done by UMS, he added, has helped in producing graduates with vast knowledge which can be applied in teaching and create awareness among the community and thus becoming a role model for them.
During the event Abidin also give the graduating students keys a symbolic recognition for them as part of Kota Kinabalu community members and as educated generation who will take part in leading the country in the future.
He also calls for them to make their learning experience in university as a fuel for realizing their passion. –SayangSabah
