SANDAKAN: Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) has utilized around RM10 million to repair 94 patrol boats for Eastern Sabah Security Zone (Esszone).
Esscom Executive Chief Officer, Ruji Ubi, hopes that it will improve the security operations carried out at Esszone waters.
“Repair works for all boats owned by APMM, ATB, PGA, and marine police are expected to be fully completed by mid September,” he said after visiting the boat repair site in Sandakan Jaya Teknik.
Also present were Esscom Marine Component Director, First Admiral M. Karunanithi, and Esscom Operation Centre Director, Brig. General Datuk Tuan Roslan Tuan Ismail.
Rui said the funding is part of the special allocation of RM23.7 million approved by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, recently to buy new assets for Esscom. – SayangSabah
