KENINGAU: The progressive approach of the Chinese community in handling economic challenges needs to be emulated by Bumiputera communities in the state.

The Deputy Chief Minister cum Sabah Minister of Infrastructure Development, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, said if the Bumiputera communities follow suit in practicing progressive resolve, they will be able to overcome difficulties in improving their condition of life.

He said the commitment shown by the Chinese community in the state especially in Keningau for celebrating Chinese New Year this year is evident of their preparedness in facing the current slowing economy which is also felt in Europe and Middle East.
Pairin was speaking during the 2016 Keningau Chinese New Year celebration held at the district town sports field, last Saturday.

The Keningau MP and Tambunan Assemblyperson also said the government is committed in reducing the burden of the people despite the country’s unstable economy. –SayangSabah
