KOTA KINABALU: Eight illegals (PATI) including two women was sentenced to four months jail respectively for entering the state without a valid document.
All of the illegals, aged between 19 to 40 years old admitted guilty before the Sessions Judge Elsie Primus.
They were charged under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 which carries the punishment of up to RM10,000 fine, five years jail maximum, or both with a possible caning.
The court also ordered for the male illegals to receive one lashing and for all of them to be referred to the Immigration Department upon the completion of their sentence.
