KOTA KINABALU – e-Kasih programme is a registration list for individuals who have minimum wages of poverty line index and manage by the respective District Office, the Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs Sabah, Datuk Jainab Datuk Ahmad Ayid said today.
Speaking in reply to a complaint from Information Chief of Parti Bersatu Sabah’s (PBS) Tandek division, Webley Disim recently she stressed that e-Kasih is not managed by the agency under her Ministry but rather by the respective district office.
“I want to clarify that e-Kasih is not managed by district’s Welfare Department office. The list preparation does not involve the welfare department and it’s not one of the prerequisites to be a welfare applicant,” Jainab reiterated.
She said that every aid application would be considered based on the criteria of applicants and not from e-Kasih registration list.
According to her, applicants for e-Kasih should go to the nearest district office to sign up for any assistance under the programme.
“In any case, we work together to ensure that the needy are helped but there are different departments for several needs, ” she said.- By Saila Saidie/Sayangsabah.
