KOTA KINABALU: A local man was fined RM2,500 indefault six months jail by the Magistrate Court, for drunk driving.
Goh Kim Hock, 40, who was present before Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun, committed the offence at SMK Bahang area, around 2.25am in 8 November last year.
Investigation showed that the alcohol level in his blood was 334 milligrams at the time and Goh was then charged under Section 45A (1) of the Road Transportation Act 1987, which carries the punishment of a fine from RM1,000 to RM6,000, or up to 12 months jail.
In mitigation Goh pleaded to the court for a lighter sentence, however, the Traffic Prosecutor Officer, Insp Hanif Mamyudi said should be accorded the penalty accordingly. -SayangSabah
