KOTA KINABALU:  A non-governmental organisation (NGO) has urged the Sabah Government to ban Nurul Izzah Anwar from the state over her meeting with Jacel, the daughter of Jamalul Kiram III, the man who ordered the terrorist invasion of the state in 2013.

Coalition of Pro Barisan Nasional (BN) Non-Governmental Organisations  (PRO BN NGO) president Zulkarnain Mahdar said he would write a letter to urge  the state government to ban the Lembah Pantai member of parliament (MP) from Sabah.

“(Nurul Izzah) Do not set foot in Sabah and the same goes for Tian Chua, the Batu member of parliament,” he told reporters after lodging a police report in connection with images of Nurul Izzah and Jacel appearing together online.

Images snapped during the meeting held in the Philippines were uploaded by Jacel on her Facebook account on Nov 9.

Zulkarnain said the police should form a special team to investigate the motive of the meeting between the opposition MP and Jacel, who had links to the terrorists from southern Philippines.

He noted that the Sabah police commissioner had issued a statement that although Jamalul Kiram and his brother, who led the invasion, were dead, the security forces were on alert as the remnants of their group still aspired to invade Sabah.

In February 2013, terrorists from southern Philippines invaded Sabah after arriving in their boats at Felda Sahabat 17, Kampung Tanduo in Lahad Datu.

On March 1, fighting broke resulting in the death of two members of Malaysian security forces and 12 terrorists.

The following day, six police officers were killed in an ambush in Kampung Simunul, Semporna. Two soldiers were killed in action and in a road accident.- BERNAMA
