Don’t get comfortable with ‘stronghold’ status – Nasir

SEMPORNA: UMNO branch leaders and members are urged to be alert and not to trivialize any issues which may threaten the party’s unity.

Semporna Division UMNO Vice Chief, Datuk Nasir Sakaran, said while Semporna is known as UMNO stronghold, all members are still required to preserve their unity and aim to improve the party.

“We need to remind all branch leaders to organize a meeting according to the regulations and party constitution, as well as to stress the importance of consensus (in the meeting),” he said in his speech for officiating Semporna Division UMNO Branches Meeting at Inabah Kamal, here today.

Also present were the Division Secretary, Abdul Rashid Marnun, Division Youth Chief, Datuk mohd Aziz Jamman, Division Women Chief, Manis Muka Dara, Puteri Chief, Zakiah Kalipunya, divisional committee members, branch leaders, and village and district community leaders.

Nasir, who is also Senallang State Assemblyman (ADUN) explains that whatever issues or problems that may raised in the meeting must be solved as a family, and respecting the jurisdiction of the meeting coordinator.

There are 481 branches under UMNO Semporna division which are located in Sulabayan, Senallang, and Bugaya, where 10 elected coordinators will monitor the meeting process in the three zones, which will begin this week. – SayangSabah
