TAWAU: Bumiputera communities with native lands in Kalabakan constituency are urged to develop their lands through agricultural or fish-farming activities, instead of selling them for fast profits.
Kalabakan MP, Datuk Seri Abdul Ghapur Salleh, said the government through its various agencies are providing advisory services and other programmes to help those who wish to develop their lands.
“Do not sell these native lands as they are a valuable assets which can be handed down to the next generation. Developing these native lands will guarantee a long-term income,” he said.
Ghapur was giving his speech for the Briefing and Launching of Sabah Native Costumary Rights Lands Service Programme (PANTAS) under Lands and Surveys Department at Dewan Felda Kalabakan, here today.
Ghapur, who is also Kalabakan Division UMNO Chief, said he is committed in bringing more development into his constituency, which includes the Peoples’ Home Repair Programme.
He also calls for the public to continue giving their support for Barisan Nasional (BN) to ensure more development and progress brought into Kalabakan. – SayangSabah
