SEMPORNA: A Filipino woman who is willing to pay high fee for to enter the country illegally via pump boat has been detained at the waters of Tanjung Manimpa, along with the boat captain, last Saturday.
Sabah PPM Commander, ACP Mohamad Madun, said the 24-year-old woman was arrested with the male boat captain, aged 32, by his team during the Ops Paradise operation at the area at 5.30pm.
“Our team encountered the boat and immediately examined them after introducing themselves as police authority. Both the woman and captain were unable to provide any identification document,” he said in a statement.
The Tagalog woman was willing to pay RM300 to the boat captain as fee to enter the country from Sitangkai, Philippine, which takes one to two hours journey.
Also seized were the pump boat and engine with an estimated worth of RM4,400. The case was investigated under the Immigration Act 1959/63. -SayangSabah
