PUTRAJAYA: Work on the concept of “Popularising Puspanita” in delivering the service to the community, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa advised the Association of the Women Staff and Wife of the Malaysian Civil Service (Puspanita) today.
Ali, who is also Puspanita Advisor, said in line with the concept, Puspanita members should put themselves in the shoes of the service recipients to enable them to deliver the service to the best of their ability.
He said the association should also strive to improve its service delivery system to ensure that it would success in achieving its vision and missions.
“Each Puspanita member must know their own strength to contribute to the community and prepare a strategic plan according to the existing guidelines,” he told reporters after opening the 3rd Puspanita Annual Conference here today.
At the event, Ali also presented donations totalling RM93,500 to 22 selected welfare organisations, and a dialysis machine worth RM49,000 with donation of RM5,000 to the National Kidney Foundation.
Ali also praised the commitment displayed by Puspanita leadership and members in organising 500 programmes and activities this year and also in donating over RM1 million to the underprivileged group.
Meanwhile, Puspanita president Puan Sri Rohani Abdullah, who is also Ali’s wife, said the association aimed at reaching the 100,000 life membership mark next year from the current 80,000.
“We hope all our ordinary members will upgrade themselves to life members because, for the first time, there will be no extra charge for that,” she said, adding that the Puspanita would continue to be active in organising community
programmes and to build a proper centre for its activities. – BERNAMA
